An ode to 300 years of Navy tradition, The Daily Tot holds Caribbean rum at its heart. This 1300 sq ft Cuban inspired bar located on the corner of Hollywood road and Peel street pays homage to the centuries old ritual of handing out a daily rum ration ‘the daily tot’ to royal navy sailors from 1850 to 1970s aiming in order to build a sailor’s confidence, boost morale and keep warm at sea. Led by the charismatic Maikal Gurung, The Daily Tot is a tribute for the love of rum, cocktails and fine spirits which has no boundaries.

Often seen together after service hours with Maikal is Gagan Gurung, Co-Founder of Tell Camellia, ranked #23 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2021. With a background firmly rooted in Asian and Nepali culture, Gagan continuously explores farms and local markets to source ingredients within the region in order to experiment with aromatic herbs, spices, fruits, and teas, leading to the founding of Tell Camellia, a tea-led cocktail bar — the first of his many bar ventures in Hong Kong under his Singular Concepts Hospitality Group.

Join us for an evening pool party full of cocktails, rum, and good vibes as we welcome The Daily Tot and Tell Camellia from Hong Kong for a rum-filled sunset bar takeover by the pool at Ascott Gurney, Penang, courtesy of The House of Angostura.

The PCW2024 Sunset Sessions: Pool Party is open for walk-ins (subject to seating availability), with limited tickets available for seating RSVPs. Each RSVP ticket includes one (1) complimentary cocktail from the guest bartending shift menu of the night.

Terms & Conditions

1. This Event is strictly only for non-Muslim adults aged 21 and above.
2. RSVPs are available for this Event, but walk-ins are accepted too (subject to seating availability).
3. RSVP tickets are transferrable but non-refundable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and can only be redeemed once.
4. Each RSVP ticket for this Event will be allocated one (1) reserved seat at the venue. Any additional pax without an RSVP ticket will not be guaranteed a reserved seat.
5. Each RSVP ticket is eligible to redeem one (1) cocktail from the guest bartender menu of the particular event only.
6. Reserved seats will only be held for up to 15 minutes from booking time, and seats will be released after this period without any prior notice.
7. The Event Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry and/or expel from the premises any person with unruly conduct and/or in breach of any venue and/or ticketing terms & conditions.
